Presentación del Dr. Robert Bowker

Este post es el primero de una serie que espero tener tiempo de ir desarrollando poco a poco. En esta etiqueta resumiré los diferentes estudios que ha hecho el Dr. Robert Bowker  sobre el pie equino, su anatomía, funcionalidad, patología... 

El Dr Rober Bowker ha sido y es (junto al Dr. Chris Pollit), el gran motor de la investigación del pie equino y sin quererlo, del movimiento barefoot. El 1969 obtuvo el graduado de Biología en el "Springfield College" y 4 años más tarde (1973) obtuvo el graduado en medicina veterinaria en la "University of Pennsylvania". No contento con su méritos, realizó un doctorado sobre neurobiología en la "University of Pennsylvania" que terminó en 1979.

Desde ese momento, empezó su carrera como investigador, centrándose primero en temas tan diversos como;

- El sistema nervioso entérico de las vacas

- La anatomía funcional de los mecanismos relacionados con el dolor

- Los patrones de descenso de la medula espinal

- Transmisores e inflamación de las embranas sinoviales, pulmones y piel

Para finalmente, a mitades de los años 90, pasar a concentrar toda su atención en el pie equino. Algunos de sus estudios en este campo han sido;
